Fundraising for the Earthquake victims

You will be amazed to hear the total raised for the Haitian relief fund by the school last Friday. With donations now counted over £1180 was collected –in one day! The PTFA also wishes to add to the amount to be sent. It has wonderful to see the response from the children who wanted to do what they could to make a difference to people who were in such distress. We have informed the Echo hoping that they will publish the children’s achievement. Well done to all involved

Sewing machine

If anyone has an electric sewing machine which they could lend or donate to the school – we can use it. Please could you let the office or Tracy Sweeting know?

Help!

The PTFA will be rolling up their sleeves and sorting out the garage here at school which stores equipment and spare furniture. If you could help them on 2nd Feb between 1 and 3 p.m. they would be very grateful.

Disco helpers

We are always in need of parents to help at PTFA Discos – with selling sweets, supervising the corridors and in the disco itself – also sweeping up afterwards! All parents who decide that they can stay for these Friday night events will be very welcome and will be asked to help with one of the many jobs. Only those with current CRB checks will be able to assist.

Absence and data

Thank you to the vast majority of parents who ‘phone the school whenever their child is ill. This is much appreciated as it saves secretarial time having to make calls. Also, if you have changed your ‘phone number – or moved house – without updating your details held at school, please let us know urgently? If you would like to check which numbers we are holding for you on file here please ask at the office and we will check.
