Dear Parents
This afternoon we presented the rescue equipment to Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service. The safety stretcher to be used for rescue at times of extreme flooding will be kept at Tewkesbury Fire Station and will be instantly available – should it be needed. The cost of the equipment – over £1100 was raised by parents and children here in a little over two months which is a remarkable achievement and one which I know is appreciated by Fire Officers. The local press were present at the ceremony and it was good to have a chance to say an official ‘thank you’ to members of the Fire Service for their selfless work last Summer.
The final total of money raised for Barnados through our collection boxes this year was an amazing £650.34. A huge amount. Cottage boxes will be distributed again soon to all who would like one for the coming year.
There will be no story club next week (6th Feb.) as Mrs. Rouse is attending a training course.
The Life Education Trust mobile classroom is booked again this year to come to school for 11th – 14th February. Each class will receive a high quality lesson focusing on healthy living and healthy life styles and the older children will hear about substance and drug abuse. If you would like to see a short presentation and ask questions there is a session for parents on the Wednesday morning from 8.50 – 9.05 a.m. (13th Feb). The charity which runs the project is subsidised by the Rotary Club and the remaining cost of £650 is paid by our PTFA.
The next PTFA school disco will be on 8th February. The committee decided that from now onwards the timing will be a little earlier (as for the Christmas Disco) and will be from 6 – 7.30 p.m.
Yours sincerely
A.W.Holt.
