Dear Parents

Sadly, the main news of this week is the theft of lead from the school’s roof during Sunday night and the large amount of damage caused by the thieves in the process. Despite the fact that there is not a huge amount of lead on our roof, it was stripped from around Velux widows and the weather vane on the front of school. Broken tiles and replacement of broken CCTV cameras will amount to over £10,000 of damage, most of which will thankfully be found from insurance cover. Some images were caught on camera as well as some useful evidence left behind as the thieves ran away after our neighbours ‘phoned the police. No lead seems to have been taken off site due to the help and vigilance of residents of Rope Walk who reported the crime.

Swimming money for the term between January until the mid-term break is due @ £6 per child (reductions apply for larger families as usual). Extra payment slips are available from the office.

There will be no music clubs with Mr. Holland this week; there is a netball match tonight which is why netball club is cancelled.

The PTFA is holding its next regular committee meeting tomorrow night (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in school.

There will be a Family Fun afternoon at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday 2nd February between 2 and 4 p.m. This is free and includes a bouncy castle, slide, face painting, crafts and a drop-in café. No need to book but further information from Lynn Satchell on 292797. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Yours sincerely

A.W.Holt.
