19th September 2007.

Dear Parents

You are warmly invited to our Harvest Festival service at Holy Trinity Church which will be held at 9.15 a.m. on Friday 28th September. The children will be walking to Church with their gifts to present during the service. The service will last about 40 minutes. We hope that all the children will be able to bring in tins, packets, fruit, veg. cakes and any bunches of flowers that you are able to send for the children to present in Church. The PTFA will sort the gifts ready for a sale after school. (Please check that tins and packets are within their sell-by date beforehand to save time.) We hope that you will be able to come to the sale in the school hall at 3 p.m. that afternoon and buy the produce to help raise as much money as possible. This year we will be supporting the Tewkesbury fund which is raising money to support flood victims and we are also looking into buying specific items of rescue equipment. More details next week.

With a new term there seems to the perennial problem with Headlice (nits). Please could you keep up the habit of checking your child's hair daily and, if in doubt, tie their hair back to avoid contact.

If your child occasionally needs to use an inhaler please could you send one into school, labelled with their name and within the use-by date.

The first PTFA disco of the term is this Friday from 6.30-8 p.m. The cost is £1.50 per child and an information sheet is coming home today. Please remember that children must be collected from the hall as we will not allow them to walk home alone at 8 p.m., especially with the dark nights approaching. We need as many volunteers as possible to help out on disco nights - please introduce yourself to a PTFA member on the night and they will invite you to sell sweets, drinks or simply help in the hall. On Friday night after a long day everyone would like to get home so please be on time to collect so that volunteers don?t have to wait for you to turn up. Thank you.

Every Friday there will be a large fruit stall in the Key Stage 2 playground selling all kinds of fruit for 10p a portion: apples, grapes, oranges, pineapples, bananas, melons, pears and carrots. We hope that all the juniors will enjoy the healthy eating Fruit Frenzy on Fridays!

If you have any of the older blue Tesco tokens we can still use them - please bring any tokens that you have to school as we generally take part in all the collections that the supermarkets launch.

October is 'International Walk to School Month ' more details later.

Yours sincerely

A.W.Holt.
