Tewkesbury C.of E. Primary School,
URGENT: NUT Industrial Action.
Dear Parents 21st April 2008.
A brief note to inform you that this school will be open on Thursday 24th April as usual for all pupils in all classes except for one Reception Class. The children in Mrs. Griffiths’ Reception class should come to school for the morning session (when Mrs. Appel will be teaching the class as usual) and will be sent home for the afternoon session. Parents of children in Mrs. Griffiths’ class need to arrange to collect them between 12.30 and 1 p.m. after they have finished their lunch – please come to the office and staff will find your child for you.
I am sorry for the late notice of this change for the Reception class but the school holiday made it impossible to communicate the information earlier. All the other classes will be in normal operation.
To Parents of children in Miss Rowland’s Reception Class.
You will be aware that Miss Rowland has been struggling with an ongoing illness for some months now and has occasionally needed to take time off work in order to keep her strength up. Sadly, she has now been signed off from work for a period of two weeks, with the prospect of this possibly being extended. Miss Rowland is suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, M.E., which you may know is a particularly debilitating illness, though one which we hope she will recover from in the near future. I have arranged for two teachers who are known to the children to take the class for the foreseeable future – Miss Hewson will take Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays and Miss Bellchamber (who teaches our Year 1s for 3 days a week) will take Thursdays & Fridays. Miss Rowland was very sad to be forced to take time away from the children as she was desperately struggling through the illness, hoping not to be defeated by it. However, her health was suffering and medical advice concluded that she would make a quicker recovery with a complete break. I will keep you informed of her progress.
Yours sincerely
A.W.Holt.
Head Teacher.
