- James and Hannah to write to PTFA about themed discos
- Reports back from Class Councils; Is our school welcoming to people with disabilities? What do we mean by disabled?
Year 6; our school is not easily accessed by wheelchairs because it is too crowded, the gates are too small and they would need help going up kerbs. Definition of disability- someone in a wheelchair, deaf, blind, speech, dyslexia or asthma.
Year 5; change the name of the school to make it more welcoming. Definition of disability- physical, hearing, brain, disformities, really bad asthma.
Year 4; it would be difficult to find the office in a wheelchair, we need clearer signs. Buttons on doors for automatic opening. Carpets would help wheelchair users. Definition of disabilities- wheelchairs, lack of sight, mute, down syndrome, brain.
Year 3 not done yet
Year2; disabilities might include when you can’t do things, deafness, blindness, dumb, missing body parts. We are a welcoming school. Braille signs for the blind. Wheelchairs may find it difficult to get up onto the pavement so we need more ramps.
